Donations and Awards
The Awards Committee has the task of allocating the proceeds from the Annual Book
Sale held by the Projects Committee in March or April. The entire
membership
participates in the Sale which raises more than $20,000 annually.
The major portion of the profits is used to fund awards and bursaries which are not
yet self-sustaining, to establish new awards, and to support selected community
projects. At the time that these disbursements are approved, a substantial amount is
also awarded to the Charitable Fund. The goal of
the
Awards Committee is
to steadily
increase the number of awards which are self-sustaining, and to fund new awards and
bursaries as circumstances permit.
