An Exciting Off-Site Meeting!
It's been a while, so we're thrilled to announce our next meeting will be held off-site at the Southwest Community Library. Opened in March 2025, this is the sixth and latest KPL branch, and it's truly something special.
This isn't just any library – it's a net-zero, energy-efficient building and one of the first libraries in Canada to achieve the Zero Carbon Building designation. Join us for a guided tour of this dynamic space, which boasts a large sunroom, an interactive children’s area, a demonstration teaching kitchen, and a studio for podcasts, music and video production. Some musical instruments are provided. Library staff are nearby to help with your productions. You'll be able to view the learning gardens and outdoor programming spaces. They've even incorporated natural environmental considerations like bioswales to collect rainwater for irrigation during dry months, solar panels and grassed areas completely covering the roof.
Be sure to mark your calendars! We'll hold our general meeting in the Meeting Room that is beside the learning gardens, enjoy a fascinating guided tour, and have time to socialize with our CFUW K-W friends.
Don't forget to bring your KPL library card if you'd like to sign out some books!
