    The dedication ceremony will be led by Kelly Welch, an Anishnaabeg singer and drummer, and one of the members of the Region’s Indigenous community who have been involved in and leading the design and development of this building and its surroundings.

    Ken McGoogan

    Ken McGoogan a Canadian author, with 17 books to his name. He's an accomplished journalist, literary editor, and educator, having held writer-in-residence positions at several Canadian universities. Throughout his extensive globe-trotting adventures, Ken has dedicated significant time focusing on northern exploration and published internationally: Fatal Passage, Ancient Mariner, Lady Franklin’s Revenge and Race to the Polar Sea. His latest non-fiction book, Shadows of Tyranny: Defending Democracy in an Age of Dictatorship, examines the current rise of authoritarianism in the United States by drawing parallels with Europe in the 1930s.

    Copies of Ken's book will be available for purchase at this meeting.
